“Well, should be awesome cause I‘m with you and since I’m with you, I’m sure a reminder note, of the park bench near your home.” grinned Ezekiel cheekily.
“Yeah, or was it suppose to be a vice verso? ” replied Yasmeen, as she playfully rolls her eyes. Ezekiel giggles upon hearing her remarks.
“Yasmeen, can we be like how we used to be?” asked Ezekiel solemnly.
“InsyaAllah, if we both willing to start back to where it all begins.” replied Yasmeen with a smile, as her angelic eyes beams like the cherry blossoms of spring.
“Yasmeen, I meant, to be, more than friends.” asked Ezekiel, as he lay his palm onto Yasmeen’s finger. Yasmeen heart quiver and tremble, it was strange though, for they both was in a relationship before, but this time, her feelings for him was in a kind of turmoil. She just could not figure out why.
“Eze.” utters Yasmeen, as she released her fingers away from his hand. “I’ve got something for you, something which I’ve wanted to give you long time ago, long time before you left.” noun Yasmeen, as she bit her lower lip to contain her nervousness. Ezekiel nodded his head with a smile. Yasmeen, took her tote bag and pulls out something from it, as she hands it towards Ezekiel.
“Wow, Beauty And The Beast…the third edition.” cried Ezekiel delightfully, as he begins flipping the pages and start reading few lines on the page, where he stop reading that book, since like an ages ago. Yasmeen has finally read up the whole tale of it, and she discover the ending, is sure pretty unusual but exceptional.
“Eze, hey Eze, I’m here, me still right in front of your face, hello.” moan Yasmeen, as she cheekily waves her hand, covering the reading content of the book. Ezekiel giggles with a beautiful thought of the day, “Something will never change.”
“Yasmeen, I need a favor from you.” requested Ezekiel, as he place his precious gift inside his back pack.
“InsyaAllah, I shall do what I can to help.” replied Yasmeen.
“Awesome, I just wanting to get a gift….a gift for my mum.” express Ezekiel, but from Yasmeen’s gut feeling, she knew, Ezekiel was struggling hard with his emotions. He begins to hold both his palms, but his intense edginess, could be clearly seen from the corner of his eyes.
Yasmeen, held out her hand and gently place it on his palms, making him feel more ease and calm.
“I’m sure, she’s going to love this Rose Heart pendant, which you have chose.” said Ezekiel with a smile.
“InsyaAllah, and further more it is gift from you.” utters Yasmeen, as she playfully pinches his nose.
Placing the pendant in his pocket, before he enters Riley’s home quietly, for he intends to give his mum, a surprised. Ezekiel wouldn’t care less, about his few hours journey, from his college back to his hometown. Despite he knew, Riley was away to the other side of the town, for couple of days but it was not him whom he wants to see, it was his mum, as he strongly felt that, this was the best moment for him, to show some sincere gratitude towards his mum. His mum’s choice, of his current boarding school was not such a bad idea after all, his theses are getting more interesting. Every lessons, seems like a brand new treasures of knowledge.
As Ezekiel, approached the front door, he was astonished the door was not lock. “Why would, she be leaving the door unlock if she’s all alone? It is sure a risky thing to do.” thought Ezekiel to himself, as he shakes his head in disbelief. Locking the door as he enters and then as quietly as he could, with a small grin on his face, he tip toe up the stairs, heading towards her room. The evening sunny rays sets it’s tranquilly ambience, making this home feeling kind of cozy. As he amble closer towards his mum’s room, the quietness moment, was ridicule been stir, by an unimaginable weird sounds of voices and hyena like laughter. Ezekiel hands trembles, as he had his hand upon the door knob. Without any hesitation, he opens the door, but what a sickening vision he had, a vision, which will be kept lock in his mind for the rest of his life. Eva realized the cursed has been put on her. Pushing Philip her lover away from her, as she quickens to dress herself up.
“Eze,Ezekiel..” cried Eva frantically, as she ran down the stairs and just in time, she managed to grab his arm, before Ezekiel, who was burning with rage walks out from the door.
“Get you hands off me you cheap slut!!!” wailed Ezekiel, as he pushed his mum’s hands away from him. “How could you? How could you betray your own husband? Is this how you repay him, after he had picked you up from the slum?” screamed Ezekiel, with anger tears streaming off from his eyes. He felt like a fool, been used and just like a rejected shipment, his mum agenda was clear cut, putting him up to the boarding school, therefore, she could have a high time of her life, with another man in the house.
“Riley, is weak and a looser, of course you can’t tell because, you hardly know him that much!” rectify Eva, much to Ezekiel’s horror. It seems, Riley was the main cause of her illicit affair with another man.
“It’s that how you had always felt about me and dad too? I can’t belief what I’m hearing mum, you are trying to justify your wrong deeds, by pushing the blame onto others.” trailed Ezekiel.
“Ezekiel, I don’t care what you want to think about me. But let me warn you, this is just between us, don’t you dare open your mouth unnecessarily about this matter to him.” warned his mum, as she roughly grab his arm again with a vicious snarl written in her eyes.
“Do you know why I had came back, because I want to give you a surprised.” snapped Ezekiel, as he pulls the Rose pendant from his pocket and threw it at Eva’s feet. Eva look stunned, as her vicious eyes shudders to another form, named guilt.
“Consider this son of yours is dead and please not to worry, I won’t tell, no not ever, but Allah knows all. And I belief someday, with His grace, which is beyond your control, the truth will finalize itself, .” utters Ezekiel before he left, bringing his broken soul along to yet another rough patch journey. Ezekiel, left without turning his back anymore as he ran with all his might, taking his gut sorrow of anger and frustration. But where, where would he be taking his soul to? Confusion begins to be reinstating in his mind, Beauty and the beast...Yasmeen!
"Yasmeen." utters Ezekiel as he tries to hide his choking voice of disappointment. "I really need to meet you, please, if is not any trouble for you at all." said Ezekiel in between tears.
Seeing him sitting hunching looking so cold and in need of salvation for hope, is simply killing her spirit, but she can't show her weaker side on these. Thankfully, her home stay mates was kind enough for allowing her to used their car. Breathing in the air of courage, Yasmeen took her step closer towards Ezekiel.
"Eze." she called him, a soothe voice of potion for Ezekiel's plight. Ezekiel cried in silent with Yasmeen by his side, and she knew, the unique odd shapes from his chart of life, has been smeared yet again, by the chrome word name trust.
“Why do things always happen the other way round for me? How many more fences do I have to jump, just to get to the better side of life? I’ve cut my hair…I’ve done all that, making me, showing the real side of me for what purpose, for her, to show her what I’m made off. I can be different, different from him, my father, but she doesn’t even care. Why can’t she see who I really am?” yelled Ezekiel, much to Yasmeen dread. Yasmeen place her hand onto his shoulder, as she sat beside him, but decides to keep silent for a while, to let Ezekiel disclose his woes. “She’s keeping a man in the house. How could she betray him, he’s….he’s my friend. He has help me a lot during my darkest hour. And now, she threatened me, playing with my guilt, she wants me to keep mum. How am I suppose to be keeping it all? Seeing his face, this guilt would sure be tearing up my soul.” cried Ezekiel with distressing emotions.
“Eze,please forgive me, if what I’m going to say to you, might not be pleasing to your heart.” utters Yasmeen calmly. “I know it will be hard on you, but from my personal point of view, just leave their marriage life. Let them handle it cause for now the main thing is about you, focus more on your dreams, therefore, all those negatives stuff surrounding you, will feel so much lighter.” replies Yasmeen.
“But, how? How can I stay focus…seeing him, might just grief me. For how long, must I conceal this horrible sins and deception of hers” asked Ezekiel.
“Trials and tribulations were indeed the tickets, for us to be closer to Him. For each setback that befalls us, bound to make us pick up the loose bits and pieces, reminding our souls that His mercy is so much greater than His wrath. Think about it Ezekiel, you change for what purpose, just to show the real side of you, or you really change for the sake of Him? Sincerity and piety do play a major role in our life.” said Yasmeen again. "Eze, let it go. Don't you think it is about time, that you should be marking your own deal now? I've seen so much in you, so don't let this terror, destroy you, take away your rights and your dreams. Project it out in other forms of ways...and I'm sure you know, what I've meant. Why burden your heart with those sets of damage keys which can't be leading you to any door? And what's the used of those duplicate keys which might only lead you to the door of dissapointment? If throwing out those keys, are the best solution, jump start ahead, for there are indeed doors, that doesn't even need any keys to unlock it. Search for those doors and you will be surprised."
"Dad, it's me Yas...needing you now. Please return back my call. Love you." Yasmeen place her mobile phone onto the tiny side table, as she drew the blanket closer towards her chest. With her mind still in a circular midst of twirl, and she knew, there are certain things that can't be ignore. Was it fair for her to be telling Ezekiel, to ignore and avoid all those shady gleams of sickening sides which is haunting him right now? Counselling someone who has no blood ties or any relationship it seems easier, but trying to heal the broken heart of someone whom she loves and cares, it seems harder.
