Flip Chart : Chapter Fourteen

It was sure such a sheer drag of anguish and anxiety as Ezekiel awaits for the verdict to be announce from the  judge of the juvenile court. From his dork, he seems to be able to read those simple minds of people that had attended to hear his case and of cause the verdict. Some had some sense of pity towards him....mostly, they were there to penalized him. He was not surprised though, when his mum decides not to come along.....but his heart was ignite with some slight courage as Riley was there sitting....looking at him with so much concern written on his face. That unfortunate so call victim was there too....with her fretful looking mum and dad. Ezekiel sigh....he feels so tired...tired of all these. Yesterday conversation with Yasmeen somehow or rather had illumine his spirit to face up to all this with a brave front...for Yasmeen belief that Ezekiel was innocent.

Yasmeen can't focus on her reading anymore....as she had her sight looking towards the clock against the wall of the living room. She held on to her palms together....she was having cold sweat with anxious and nervousness.

"Yasmeen, what's wrong ?" asked her mum curiously as she barely notice Yasmeen been acting strange like this. The smell of the brewing coffee and the fresh French toasts does not seems to stir her senses at all...!!! Yasmeen remains silent with a frown. "Yasmeen, you can always talk to me about things...who knows maybe I can help." continues Sharinah.

The darkening of the skies that came along with the coldness of the wind was a portent..yet another rainy day. Yasmeen was not sleeping well the night before as her mind was solely towards Ezekiel's plight. She knew very well how Ezekiel was feeling and going through right now. All the silent cries, within himself every night before he turns in to bed....if he were able to fall asleep at all...due to this whole mess. It sure must be a devastating decree, for his small heart. Yasmeen took her toast and place it on her plate as she decides to spread the honey on top of it. Sharinah becomes concerned about her daughter's silentness...however, she knew...she had better not to probe too much...or Yasmeen might just gets turn off and decides not to talk at all...therefore, Sharinah decides to leave it as it is.....until Yasmeen feels more comfortable and be ready to tell her about the matter which is bothering her too much.

"Mum..I will be all right. Trust me." utters Yasmeen with a faint smile. Sharinah nodded her head as both of them had their breakfast together. "I have almost pack some of my things for our moving over with dad..." utters Yasmeen as she took a bite of her honey toast.

"Are you having second thoughts about this whole shift over to his place ?' asked Sharinah with a faint smile. Sharinah had her sight towards the pack boxes and some of the paper bags which had been fill with clothes...and other linens. "Yasmeen, it's not too late if you have decides to change your mind about this." continues her mum again.

"Mum, no....please, I'm extremely excited about staying with dad and Iman....there's something else....about Ezekiel..." said Yasmeen as she rub her fingers upon the surface of her coffee mug.

"Yasmeen, do you think he's worth it ? Sweetie, please forgive me....but..Ezekiel..and now with his latest stunt...I don't know Yasmeen..." utters Sharinah. Yasmeen hung her head low as she had her sight towards the carpetted floor of the living room...as her eyes begins to tears up. "You have been pain stain kingly wanting to restore the significant friendship which you had with him...but for the past few months..he has been ignoring you...just like a bug or a flee...and now, with this trouble which crash on his head....he came back knocking on your walls. Was he been fair to you ? Please forgive me Yasmeen...but I care and I love you so much...and I can't just see you been like this...it's hurting me." continues Sharinah..as she came closer towards Yasmeen and gently caress her head with so much love. Yasmeen let her tears fall...and in few seconds she embrace her mum...sobbing in between Sharinah's tummy. Sharinah..held on to her beloved daughter and this beautiful memories and notion lingers back in her mind...it seems her daughter was just her baby doll...her sweet little tot of five.

It was devastating...the verdict was like a tumour that grows on and on without mercy and so are Ezekiel's mind...all his hopes and dreams of becoming a teacher or a counsellor....came crashing down..like a smash china bowl which hit the concrete marble floor...that can never be amend. Ezekiel wept....covering his tearful eyes with both of his palms as he sunks on the wooden bench. He was innocent..he knew deep now...this was a trap..a set up....he has been victimised. Putting his palms away, as he peer in between the iron cage which he was place...Ezekiel had his sight towards Riley. From Riley's pair of grayish blue eyes....all messages was clearly written ...as Ezekiel had it mint on his mind. Riley stood up from the platform and he walks closer towards Ezekiel..cage of iron. Few police guards came forward, as they try to pull Riley away from there."I will get to the bottom of this case...Please be strong my son...I know you are innocent and I belief." cried Riley, as he was staggering in between the grips of the police guards. They roughly pulls him away and brings him towards the exit door of the court. Ezekiel stares fretfully, feeling so dead and numb....as he too was taken away by the warden...deep down he knew, the place of destination which he will be thrown...the jail of juveniles.

Rile,y speed off along the empty tracks along the road that was situated among the wood lands of the states...the cloudless sky seems to be heaving his song of sorrows upon his heart. Wiping his tears off from his eyes...as he shakes his head in disbelief, "That kid has so much in him....so many dreams and hopes...and seen him like this..." trails Riley's mind, which seems like an empty barrel...that was so desperate and wanting for the source of life..water for significant replenishing. Riley stop his vehicle in a halt...as he lay his forehead upon the steering wheel.

"Hope...was there any left for this infinite sinner like me?" wept Sephira, in between her shaky knees." To run..but where..where can I bring this sorrow self soul of mine too?" cries Sephira's thoughts. Suddenly, she heard footsteps brushing among the scattered branches and leaves which were laying motionless upon the dried muddy ground. Bringing her hand forward, as she inflicts ray lights of small fire in between her trembling fingers. She felt frightened and scared...a feeling which was not suppose to be in vocabulary before. Tears of fretfulness came pouring out from her hazel brown eyes....when suddenly she felt tired and alone. The sound of the footsteps coming closer and closer towards the insignificant hollow cave...and there he stood looking calmly towards her...it was Luth. Still holding out her fire up trembling fingers, towards the intruder...with a sign of body language as a strict warning, not to take another step closer towards her or be fried.

"I'm not here to hurt you...I'm here to take you with us..to protect you...." exclaimed Luth as he was determined to get Sephira away from this terrible plight....this horrific dilemma of been betrayed and bruised. "Sephira..there's so many things I know about you....your past. You've got to learn to trust me...." persuade Luth, as he took a step closer towards her.

"I don't trust any one any more...not even myself....damn it !!! And I don't need any one protection....just please go away....please go." cried Sephira, as she sank onto the rocky ground of the dark cave which was amazingly lighted by her flickering small fire of her fingers.

"Strangely, this cold dark cave, looks warm, serene and beautiful with that light of yours." utters Luth, as he slowly took few more steps closer towards her and finally, he sat closely by her side. " Sephira, I belief there is some goodness in your heart....just like how you manage to enlightened and illumine this cold concrete cave. You are not born for this, Sephira....there's something which is much worth more awaiting for us. I'm tired and I know you are....all of us actually....tired with all this fight...which does not seems to have any counclusion any end to this at all. We are all migrating away..away from this horror place..I know...I might sound coward...but I don't feel there's any point at all for us to continue...carry on with this battle." said Luth, as he had his sight focus towards the warm light from Sephira's fingers. Sephira's looks at him....and she saw so much life in him...like a new breath of hope . The rain song..that falls blissfully among the rose garden of her heart....she felt love.

"My mother....Dhaleya. I can't just leave her like that. Seems, you can feel some light of goodness inside my soul...why can't you feel that too inside my mother's heart...? Is she born evil....or was there something which makes her that way..?" stammered Sephira. Luth, brings Sephira closer towards him and held her close in his arms.

"You belief there's some goodness in her?" asked Luth. "All right, give your self a chance then, to prove that statement....I shall wait for you here.....until sunrise." said Luth, as he gently caress her hair and wipe the falling tears off from her eyes. "After sunrise, if there's still no sign of you...I'm sure, you know what I'm going to do..."continues Luth, with sign of worried written in his eyes.

Sephira moves away from Luth's arm, as she stood up and walk towards the exit of the cave....before she left she turns to look at him...and then she's gone.

"Look who's back...an ungrateful breed of Aden!!!" roared Dhaleya...as she sprang forward towards Sephira..with so much anger.

Sephira, sank on her kness as she held on to her mother's feet and plead. "Your highness...please, I belief there's is some goodness inside your heart....turn back towards the light of faith and hope...mother. I can't loose you been trap in your own soul of darkness." wept Sephira tearfully.

"What words am I hearing this ?" snapped Dhaleya furiously. "It must have been him...he's the one that has been poisoning your mind..." continues Dhaleya as she kicks her away from her sole.

"Mother...I came back for you...I love you mother....we have done so much damage to the others...so much damage to ourselves...are we happy mother. Are you happy mother?" asked Sephira, as she breaths in a new courage inside her heart, as she shots her mother with all those interrogation questions.

"How dare you?" yelled Dhaleya...as she held her hands towards her daughter. To Sephira's horror...her mother's finger was enlighten...and Sephira was strike by the dark cold lighting. Dhaleya...laughed upon seeing her daughter falls in pain..succumb to her weakness.

"Mother please...!!!" pleads Sephira...but her pleading just falls through her mother's ears...it was no used. There was no hope!!! Sephira was chained and place inside the cold concrete dudgeon with barb wires of lightning enclosing around her body....she was in so much pain....every movement was a killing torment for her to bear..."Mother...!" she pleads tearfully. It seems her soul was going to breath it's last...as she saw her hope was slipping away....the darkness of the night sky was her only companion of grief...Sephira..held her head up towards the small opening window from her cell....as she pray for some lightness of the moon to enhance some blissfully soft like feather calmness inside her soul. And there she saw the beauty of the moon...looking back at her...with so much live and beauty. Sephira smile...in between her pain....she knew..she's not alone anymore. The color of the moon together with the dark clouds..suddenly, wheels her mind back on Luth. "Just like the color of your eyes.." utters Sephira....and with this beautiful feeling of love..she soon fell asleep.' Yasmeen looked tenderly, towards the her favorite book mark which Ezekiel has presented for her. "Why can't your moon, shone like how it used to be?" utters Yasmeen sadly....and with this she wept herself in between her pillow and soon she felt asleep.
